The Kids4Kids Committee and the families of Musson Elementary will be collecting most-needed winter clothing items to donate to underserved children in the Detroit area.

In partnership with the Student Council, we will kick off the giving season with a clothing drive to benefit children, supported through GFAGC, a Kids4Kids partner for over 20 years. The most needed items for children in shelters are NEW, tagged and/or packaged underwear, socks, hats, winter headband ear warmers and gloves.

Beginning on October 21, we will be collecting these items for boys and girls from toddler size to adult.  Feel free to purchase these items or gift new/unused items and send them in with your child to their classroom between October 21- October 25. The grade that collects the most items will receive a Pajama and Popcorn Day and a grade-level prize.

We will be celebrating our clothing drive week with some fun coordinating spirit days.

  • Monday, October 21 – Wacky Sock Day
  • Tuesday, October 22 - Hooray for Headband and Hat Day
  • Wednesday, October 23 – Mismatched Day
  • Thursday, October 24 - Favorite Color Day
  • Friday, October 25 – Class Shirt/Musson Blue Shirt Day

Your child may bring theme-specific donations any day throughout the week.

Beginning soon, we will be continuing our tradition of collecting holiday toys for foster children in our Oakland County community, partnering again with the Department of Health and Human Services’ “Fostering Dreams” program.
